The concept of "One Health Medical Education" is a bold declaration: the degraded state of our environment has become the leading threat to human health. This urgent reality demands that environmental health be integrated into all communications between pharmaceutical laboratories and healthcare professionals.
From our hearts and lungs to our skin, blood and mental health, no aspect of our well-being is spared from the effects of air, chemical, and noise pollution. The exposome—the cumulative impact of environmental exposures throughout our lives—has emerged as the primary risk factor for most chronic diseases.
One Health Medical Education bridges this critical gap, equipping healthcare professionals with an evidence-based holistic perspective when addressing their patients. It translates into pluridisciplinary projects connecting specialties unused to meet, and a deep dive into the links between the state of our immediate environment and our health, well being, and therapy success.
